Unit Adoptions
One of the primary ways the Navy League supports the sea services is through unit and ship adoptions.
Navy League councils around the world provide personal support of units and ships from the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard and even adopt units from youth programs, such as the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets, Navy League Cadet Corps, Young Marines and others.
Navy League councils provide support through awards, invitations to attend events, financial support, scholarships, ship visits, emergency support, family support and more.
Ship Commissionings
Navy League of the United States has long been recognized for its role as a supporter of U.S. sea service units and their families worldwide. One of the most important objectives is to enhance the morale of sea service personnel and their families. One means a Navy League council accomplishes this objective is by supporting the various celebratory activities surrounding commissionings of ships and leading the commissioning committee.
