Financial Assistance and Other Aid
For sea service families in need of financial assistance, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Foundation is offering up to $500 in quick assistance loans to Navy and Marine Corps families. No application fee and no appointment are required, and the loan must be paid back within 10 months.
Coast Guard families that have experienced a loss of pay for their spouse or are having issues related to childcare costs can access loans of up to $6,000 through the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance. The organization is also offering $4,000 loans that can later be converted into grants for Coast Guard families that have had to quarantine. For more information, review their assistance document.
Military OneSource is offering an array of coronavirus resources, including non-medical counseling video sessions for children and youth, financial counseling and tax assistance. Visit their website for more information.
The Office of Financial Readiness has set up a website that details service members' financial options for mortgages, student loans, relocation and more.
