Navy League Headquarters Status

The Navy League is committed to providing our members, councils and sea service personnel with up-to-date information to help address the coronavirus (COVID-19) threat in the United States and around the world. We assure you that during this time of crisis, Navy League headquarters remains open for business. We are taking careful measures to protect our employees during this time, including steps like remote work and social distancing, while ensuring that our customer service remains a priority. We pledge to remain accessible to you during this time.

Navy League Events

• Sea-Air-Space 2020 and its associated events have been canceled. More information is available at our website.
• STEM Expo 2020 has also been canceled and will return on April 11, 2021.
• The Navy League has postponed our National Convention, originally scheduled for June in Arizona. The event will now take place in 2021.
• Special Topic Breakfasts will continue to be held virtually until we are able to hold them in person in the Navy League Building.
• We regret that we will not be able to celebrate the National Capital Region Navy Birthday Ball in person this year. There will be virtual celebrations of Navy Heritage Week and the Navy’s 245th birthday. We will post and distribute that information when it becomes available.

Protecting Yourself
According to the CDC, the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. Please take these steps to ensure your safety as the virus continues to spread.

• Clean your hands often. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Remember to always wash after blowing your nose, sneezing, coughing or after being in a public place.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
• Consider wearing a face mask in public.
• Avoid contact with other people. Put a distance of at least 6 feet between you and anyone you come in contact with.
• Stay home if you are sick.
• If you have recently traveled or are not feeling well, consider a 14-day self-quarantine to ensure you do not unwillingly spread the virus.
• Only leave your house if absolutely necessary. Exceptions include if your job is deemed essential by your state or national government, if you critically need supplies like groceries or pharmaceuticals, or are seeking healthcare services.
